Have you ever tried to paint on your clothes?
I like to wear plain clothes, but sometimes too plain can be a bit boring.
So why not try out something new?
This is a t-shirt/dress – an old pattern from which I made many, in different shades, colours, lengths and fabrics. I wear it with tights and boots in winter.
I did not have fabric paint so I used acrylic paint instead.
Yes, the ones that artists use on canvas!
I did the drawings with a fabric pen and coloured it in with paint.
When dry, you can iron it lightly on the back of the fabric.
It does not wash out or smudge or damage in the washing machine.
Tip: do not use too much paint as it is quite thick on the fabric and can make it hard.
Now it is your turn to paint on your clothes…………!
You can even use an old garment in your cupboard, but it is much easier to start from scratch.
You can also try drawing on it with a permanent marker…..
Make patterns and colour it in with this cloth marker or permanent marker.
This garment was made from a thin stretchy t-shirt fabric just like the turquoise one.
The downside to this is that it fades with every wash.
Please tell me if you know a pen/permanent marker which won’t make me drawing again and again after every wash……
But at least I have something unique which you won’t find anywhere else!
Please share this with a your creative friends!
