How to sew a scarf without knitting or crochet haven’t cross your mind yet – have it?
Yes – you can do this in less than an hour – only with your sewing machine and a some left over wool, lace or anything…..
All you need is a piece of Avelon+ ( a type of paper – almost like interfacing without glue – but it disappears once it gets wet) I bought mine at a Bernina shop. (most fabric and haberdashery stores will have it)
Cut the Avelon+ in the desired length and width you need your scarf to be.
Put the second layer of Avelon+ on top.
Use a lot of pins to keep everything in place.
Then you can start sewing, using a normal straight stitch.
You start at the one end and work in blocks all the way to the other end. You can even use your freehand embroidery foot and work in patterns or curls. Just make sure you sew over all the pieces and everything stay in place.
Add any detail you like.
Hand wash the whole piece in warm water and rinse well.
Let it dry
So now you know how you sew a scarf without knitting or crochet.
