It was the words that inspired me…..
But loving vintage things and cats made it happened.
This is my roughest and most “un-neat” work ever, but I think it suits the image and “vintage feel”.
Get the free pattern for this DIY cat angel here. (There are a pattern for the cat and the clothes.)
You can resize it according to your specifications.
I hope you enjoy making one too.
Use normal calico or any other thin cheap fabric for the cat.
The clothes for the angel can be any fabric. I used an off cut upholstery fabric because the texture was rough.
Add anything else to make it look pretty.
The face of the cat angel is just a simple drawing with pen.
I stained it with a sponge dipped in Rooibos tea and on a few places with a brown pen to get it darker.
Use machine stitching on the wings for detail. The cat is just loosely stuffed with batting and not to thick, so it fits easily underneath your machine foot.
The arms and wings was joined on the dress (not the body) with small hand stitches.
The buttons on the arms are for detail only.
I hope this cat angels brings you and happiness in your home!!
