This is what you can create with a few scraps and left over pieces of fabric.
A long top for a little girl to wear with tights or pants or just as a dress.
The pink, white and grey cotton lycra was left-overs from clothes I made last winter.
The pink dotted fabric was the bottom of pajama-pants that I made shorter for my little girl.
The same goes for the purple flowers. (remember not to through those off-cuts away!!)
Playing with birds and flowers, together with appliqué work gives you a whole new picture and a new outfit.
The tutorial on how to do appliqué, is available here.
You can find the free pattern for the birds and flowers here.
You can even use an old top and make it look new and refreshed!
I added the lace to give a more “girl-like” look and rounds it off.
To create something new with scraps can be endless fun.
Just do some planning and organising in your cupboards – I can promise you that there are a lot of opportunities waiting…..
It is also very self-gratifying to recycle and create something from waste!
