As the festive season is coming up, it is time to think about all the dinners and suppers and family gatherings.
No, I do not have a special recipe for you to make, as my cooking can be a bit risky………….. I am creative yes, but my creativity never goes in the direction of the kitchen.
I am rather thinking about something special for you to wear.
Whether you will be the cook or just the helper in the kitchen, this year, you will be a good-looking cook.
And of course, you can make it yourself.
If cooking is not your thing (which I understand and support) you can make this and give it to someone for Christmas – a handmade gift from the heart!
A 3D apron
You can use any apron pattern to your liking.
I used and ordinary easy-to-make pattern as the detail is in my 3D picture.
Straight lines and easy fold-and-sew hems.
I took a clip art picture, made it the size I want and cut it out on fabric.
You can use any picture,…………………. you do not have to be a cat-aholic like me.
Just use your imagination !
Sew the fabric picture on the apron and leave a small opening to fill it with pieces of batting.
Close it and do a satin stitch all around on the edge.
Draw the detail lines with a fabric pen.
Use your free hand embroidery foot on your machine and play around with detail all over.
This will keep the batting in place and give a “puffiness” effect to make the picture appear 3D
You can add a few words or just a pocket to finish off your apron.
Ps: Very important!
If you make this as a present for someone…. Please choose the picture and words very carefully…………..as we all want a peaceful festive season……………
Happy sewing and/or cooking in 3D
